Wholehearted

In 2017, I wrote a note to myself: “Doesn’t wholeheartedness encompass it all? If I live wholeheartedly, I can be open, kind, optimistic, fair, patient . . .”

I went on to choose Wholehearted as my Word for 2018.

As I look ahead to the new year and the challenges it will hold, I once again choose Wholehearted as My One Word and will focus on the guideposts Brené Brown outlines in her book, The Gifts of Imperfection.

It feels a bit vulnerable to publicly state I am going to embrace wholehearted living in the days ahead, but I hope the accountability of doing so gives me resolve on days when it will be easy to give in to discouragement, anxiety, and discontentment.

Hold me accountable, Friends.

In the end, I think that when we go through stuff, it’s an opportunity to be the purest reflection of Jesus. This is my great desire. I won’t do it perfectly. But I will pursue doing it wholeheartedly.
