Kindness
Perhaps it’s just been my perception in recent days, but it would seem to me that the world as a whole is becoming increasingly unkind. I’ve been thinking about this - specifically in relation to Christians, in the way they speak, in the way they present themselves to the world.
Sarcasm, passive-aggressive comments, name-calling . . . I don’t see how those fit into the Gospel narrative or advance the Kingdom of God.
Instead, I think we could all learn from meditating on Romans 2:3-4: “So when you, O man, pass judgment on others, yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God’s judgment? Or do you disregard the riches of His kindness, tolerance, and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness leads you to repentance?”
God’s kindness leads you to repentance.
Perhaps showing some of that kindness to those who share a different view than you do might just be the way to have influence in their lives. And if not? Well, that’s between them and God anyway.
